Item Description This game used 2nd base was on the field during the seventh through ninth innings of the momentous first no-hitter in Mets franchise history on June 1, 2012 against the St. Louis Cardinals. In this, the 8,020th game of the franchise, Johan Santana became the first pitcher in New York Mets history to throw a no-hitter. The left-hander tossed a career-high 134 pitches and struck out eight to accomplish the monumental feat and cementing his place in Mets lore in front of the home crowd. This base was autographed by Johan Santana and inscribed "Mets 1st No Hitter 6/1/12."
Mets Amazin' Memorabilia and Johan Santana formed an exclusive partnership for the sale of autographed and inscribed merchandise commemorating the first no-hitter in franchise history. A portion of net proceeds from sales of game-used memorabilia autographed by Santana will be donated by the Mets and Santana to the Johan Santana Foundation.
